Villa Monastero, a property of the Province of Lecco, is one of the most interesting attractions of our territory thanks to its strategic location, its history, its landscape, its environment and for the different services which it can offer. The House Museum, the historical and noble residence, is at its core: in the year 2004 Villa Monastero was given the title of "Casa Museo" by the Lombardy Region and since then its fourteen rooms can be visited following a charming itinerary.

The beautiful villa was built at the end of XVII century by the Milanese marquis Giorgio Clerici in a natural basin between lake and mountains, facing the dolomite Grignas and the peninsula of Bellagio. The architect created for the Clericis an important but sober building, with an Italian garden decorated with sculptures, stairs and fountains.

At the end of the 18th century, the main access route to the Villa was a steep staircase leading up from the lake. The splendid Villa del Balbianello rises up on a breathtaking sheer promontory above Lake Como. The loggia affords a beautiful view of the majestic lake: on the one side, you can see the Tremezzina area, which opens out onto the heart of the lake, whereas on the other you can gaze at Comacina Island.

Villa Erba is a 19th-century villa in Cernobbio, on the shores of Lake Como, Italy. It was built by Luigi Erba, brother of the prominent businessman Carlo Erba (founder of the first Italian pharmaceutical company), to show off his wealth. After his death, it was inherited by his daughter Carla and was used by Carla's family, including her son Luchino Visconti. In 1986, it was bought by a public consortium to use as an exposition and congress center. In 2004, the villa served as a filming location for Ocean's Twelve. In 2005, Gwen Stefani shot the music video for her single Cool on the villa's grounds; in the same year, a leg of Anastacia's Live at Last Tour was hosted in the villa's park.

The construction of the Villa, which began in 1797, was commissioned by marquis Innocenzo Odescalchi from Swiss architect Simone Cantoni. As it was designed to be a summer retreat for the aristocracy, it was built alongside the lake; the villa was named after an elm planted in the middle of the ornate gardens, which is no longer alive today. It was acquired in 1924 by the municipality of Como and today is open to the public only during exhibitions, while the lakeside gardens are freely accessible during the daytime.
