Picturesque beach and place for extreme recreation
Navagio Beach is an isolated sandy cove on Zakynthos island. It is one of the most famous and most photographed beaches in Greece. And also the picture of this place is commonly used as wallpaper for desktops all around the world. But unfortunately, no camera can show a real beauty of this place. You can get here only by boat or any other way but only from the sea. It is better to take a boat for rent which costs 100-200 euro depending on the season then to use touristic ship for 250 people. Because it is more standing in queues to get on board and from it then enjoying the beauty of nature.
Navagio Beach is often referred to as the Shipwreck Beach or just simply «The Shipwreck» because it is home to the wreck of a ship called «Panagiotis» that is believed to have been a smugglers ship.
This small but beautiful sandy cove is located on the north-west shore of Zakynthos Island, near the village named Anafotiria. In this area you can find sheer limestone cliffs, white sand beaches, and clear blue water. All these attracts thousands of tourists every year. Also you can see this cove from above if you stand on the high side of the cliffs that overlook it. Some extreme lovers jump from this cliff with parachute. This is called basejump. And here you can get by car.
