The Church of San Pedro de Ávila is located outside the walls, just opposite the Puerta del Alcázar in Grande Market Square. In its atrium monarchs they swore to respect the privileges of Castile, reflecting the importance of the church in the period of greatest political importance of the city. In 1914 it was declared a National Monument.
